WHAT an eggs-tremly nice gesture!

More than 100 Easter eggs have been donated to Royal Bolton Hospital to put a smile on the faces of staff and patients this holy month.

Homeless Aid UK  donated 138 Easter eggs to patients at Royal Bolton Hospital.

The charity hopes that the Easter eggs will provide a ‘much needed boost’ to patients receiving care at the trust, who are also having to spend time away from loved ones during the holidays.

Billa Ahmed, Member of the Homeless Aid UK team, said: “We have been doing this for years but with COVID19 we couldn’t do more.

“We wanted to give back to our local community, not only do we look after the homeless, but we also do other social projects to help those in need.”

The majority of the Easter eggs were bought by the Homeless Aid UK, with a few people also kindly donating.

A supply of smaller Easter eggs was given to Bolton NHS Foundation Trust staff for their hard work.

Mr Ahmed said: “The staff are so loving and caring.

“They sacrifice so much, especially during the peak of the pandemic.

“Everything they do is just absolutely amazing.”

Abdul Goni, Charity Engagement Coordinator, commented: “Thank you to Homeless Aid UK for putting smiles on many faces.

“It’s a wonderful gesture of care and compassion and a demonstration of how the community is supporting our staff and patients.”
