If like me, you’ve binged the trending hot new season of Bridgerton, you might now be sat dreaming of your own Viscount or lady of the ton.

While I can’t offer you that, I can offer you stunning regency era promenades with all the tea to go with it right here in Bolton.

Here’s my tips on how to spend your day like a Bridgerton in Bolton.

Bolton Queens Park

Almost every episode sees a promenade of the two love interests, so it’s only right that you take one too – at Bolton’s Queen Park.

Entertain every scandal possible as you walk the woodlands unchaperoned, taking in the winding walkways similar to that in the show, where families would pass each-other and exchange pleasantries.

Amble along the River Croal and marvel at the sculptures dotted around the gardens, before you head to the Pavilion Café to sip tea with the gossip of Bolton.

For extra points, don your regency dresses.

Tea Rooms –

Take your Lady Whistledown theories to this beautiful Mary-Poppins inspired tearoom at Smithills Hall in Bolton.

With over seven different teas on offer, every Bridgerton can find something for their tastes.

Nibble on a luxury fruit scone with jam and cream or ask for the soup of the day served with chunky bloomer bread.

There are many beautiful tea rooms in Bolton, try Lottie’s of Belmont or the Provenance Food Hall.

The Bolton News: Albert HallsAlbert Halls

When you’ve finished promenading around Bolton Queen’s Park and sipped tea to gossip with the ladies of the ton, get a *box* at Bolton’s Albert Hall and admire a performance of the Wizard of Oz pantomime on April 15 or the Celine Dion tribute to get lost in the music.

The Albert Hall is the perfect picture of grandeur and if you manage to catch a performance at this historic theatre, you may even find your potential suitor.

The original Albert Hall served as the heart of the town’s cultural life for over 100 years, hosting hundreds of concerts, shows, bazaars, exhibitions, and other events, playing host to figures including Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

The Octagon Theatre in Bolton is another place you can go with the family comedy Habibti showing in April.

Gallery and Museum –

The cast of Bridgerton often stare with deep interest at art displayed at their evening balls and you can channel your inner Benedict Bridgerton at the Bolton Library and Museum.

There’s displays of Art, Egyptology, Archaeology, Botany and Zoology here.

Look for the 1970s pictures of Bolton by Don Tonge for an idea of the town’s own history or the fine arts section for a variety of paintings, with one on Bolton’s Queen’s Park – where you hopefully walked earlier.

And there it is, your guide to living like a Bridgerton this weekend. Don’t forget to take pictures and tag us on our social media to let us know what you get up to.
