A BMW driver who smashed into a pensioner's home, badly injuring her, is to be sentenced after he admitted causing serious injury through dangerous driving.
Michael Vose had previously denied the offence, although he had admitted dangerous driving, and was due to face trial later this month.
But, appearing via a video link at Bolton Crown Court from Forest Bank prison, 39-year-old Vose changed his plea to guilty.
The Honorary Recorder of Bolton, Judge Martin Walsh told him that he now be sentenced on May 3 after a probation report is prepared about him.
Vose was behind the wheel of a BMW X6 when it smashed through the wall of 92-year-Edna Kerns' White Horse Grove, Westhoughton, bungalow in the early hours of the morning.
Mrs Kerns was inside the property when the car careered through a metal fence and rammed into the rear wall of her home at 5.15am on November 28 last year.
The elderly woman was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries.
The property backs onto Bolton Road, which had to be sealed off for a time while police carried out their investigation.
Vose was arrested after allegedly being spotted wandering in the middle of the road among traffic.
In addition to dangerous driving Vose, of Mount Pleasant Avenue, St Helens, has admitted criminal damage to the property, causing actual bodily harm to another woman and damaging her wardrobe and wall.
Judge Walsh told Vose: "This case will be dealt with on May 3 for sentence."
He will remain in prison in the meantime.
