A LEARNER driver has been fined by magistrates after she hit another car and drove off.
Bolton magistrates heard how mum-of-five Hadiya Arason was driving a Peugeot on September 24 last year when she pulled out of a side road onto Derby Street and hit a VW Golf, causing minor damage.
Arason, of Netherfield Road, Bolton, did not stop to exchange insurance details and did not report the collision to police.
After being shown CCTV of the incident she pleaded guilty to careless driving and failing to stop or report an accident.
Arason, aged 31, who only has a provisional driving licence, told the court that she had been on her way to collect medicine for her sick child and had not realised she had hit another vehicle.
She was fined £160 plus £119 in costs and charges and had 10 penalty points added to her driving licence.
