Two people were treated by parademics after four vehicles crash during yesterday's rush hour.

Emergency services were called to St Peter's Way just after 5pm after reports of a multi vehicle crash.

Ambulance, fire and police attended the scene with paramedics working closely with firefighters.

A man and a woman were treated at the scene.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 5.20pm on Monday 28 March, fire crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on St Peter’s Way, Bolton.

“Two fire engines from Bolton Central, as well as the technical rescue unit from Leigh, quickly attended the incident, which involved two cars and two vans.

“Fire crews used specialist equipment to make the area safe. Alongside colleagues from North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), firefighters administered first aid to a man and a woman at the scene.

“GMFRS crews were in attendance for around 40 minutes.”

The crash caused delays throughout the evening with the northbound cariiageway partially blocked.

The crash happened between Bradford Street and Kay Street.

Police said vehicles involved in the crash included a Peugeot van, a Honda accord and a transit van.
