A DAUGHTER from Heaton has truly spoilt and appreciated her mother with a luxury pampering session, after winning a competition.
Natalie Devaney nominated her mum Pauline Devaney, in the Market Place Mother’s Day competition, as a way to say thank you for everything she does as a mum, grandma, and childminder.
It was important for Natalie to do this for her mum because of the busy life her mum leads, where she looks after as many as eight children from 7:30am-6pm Monday-Friday.
Natalie said: “I saw the competition on Facebook, and I nominated her because she is amazing.
“I didn’t think I would have won.
“When I first told her she was overwhelmed.
“We will be celebrating again today with Afternoon Tea at the Bolton Whites Hotel."
Pauline added: “I don’t know how to put it in to words.
“All of it is overwhelming.
“It’s amazing what Market Place have done.
“It’s nice to have the time off, and I’m very honoured.”
The mum and daughter started off at Klubb and Co coffee shop for a before shot and breakfast, followed by getting their nails done at Raise Hands and Nails.
As part of their special prize, they also had a makeover, as well as a chance for Natalie to help her mum ‘refresh her wardrobe’.
Events and Marketing manager for Market Place, and stylist, Nicky Barrett said: “It’s a real pleasure to do this because she is a very deserving mother.
“I like to call it a wardrobe refresh, which includes bottoms, either jeans or a skirt, a couple of tops, accessories, and some footwear.
“It’s really nice to be offering this to one of our local customers.
“It’s nice to make somebody’s day and make somebody smile and feel treated.
“We hope to continue this with Father’s Day, so men aren’t missing out too.”
Natalie and Pauline finished their day off by selecting a bag to match, followed by lunch at Prezzo with Natalie’s 7-year-old son, Charlie.
In Natalie’s nomination she said: “I would like to nominate my Mum Pauline Devaney.
“My Mum is a Childminder to 8 children; 7:30-6 Monday - Friday, with school runs and playgroups everyday.
“She truly is superwoman, and on top of this she is also the best nanna to my son, the most amazing mum to me and my brother, and we would all be lost without her selfless, kind, caring ways.
“She has an absolute heart of gold.
“She deserves the world.”
