A resident has been left shocked after he saw a man dump piles of household rubbish outside a town hall this morning.
John Robinson, a Farnworth resident, was left in utter disbelief this morning when he saw a man with a big bin dump household rubbish outside the Farnworth Town Hall.
Bolton Council say they are aware of the incident and are making inquiries.
John was on his way to his son's house when he saw a man dump the rubbish, at first he thought he was staging some form of protest but then when he turned his car round to speak to the man, he had already left the scene.
John said the act of flytipping riled his blood.
He said: "I was heading to my son's house right by the town hall.
"The bloke had a big bin with him and he tipped it all out.
"I was expecting him to stay there and make some protest saying that the council hadn't emptied his bin but when I turned my car around, he had gone.
"The man quickly tipped it, got in his vehicle, and away he went.
"There is a big council camera which covers the full length of the building, so he would have been seen.
"He was just a normal bloke, not in disguise and he must have done it for a reason.
"I'm just wondering if he has been told no at the tip and he's just dumped it in front of the town hall.
"He wouldn't have got away with it if he hadn't left straight away.
"It is bad enough when you see them dumping it outside their houses but to do it outside the town hall it's just disrespectful and wrong."
The flytipping included household waste such as milk bottles, toilet roll tubes, bread, baguettes, various food products, and takeaway trays.
A spokesperson for Bolton Council said: “Bolton Council has a zero-tolerance policy on flytipping and, whenever possible, we will take enforcement action against those responsible.
“The public can help us in the fight against flytipping by reporting incidents to the council via our website.
“We are aware of this particular incident and we are conducting inquiries.
"The waste was cleared from the site earlier this morning.”
