The University of Bolton has donated £10,000 to help a partner institution in Africa recover after the devastating impact of a series of catastrophic storms.
The donation to the Malawi Institute of Management (MIM), will help to support the rebuild and also to provide medical support after an outbreak of cholera and food parcels to remote areas.
Those hardest affected live in the areas harder to reach and regions that cultivate vital crops.
A huge area, including Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, was initially hit in January by Tropical Storm Ana and then this month by Cyclone Gombe, killing many and devastating communities across the region.

The disaster comes just three years after Cyclone Idai killed thousands in the region.
The University of Bolton has been a partner of the Malawi Institute of Management since 2007, with more than 1,200 students having graduated with us.
The MIM delivers the University’s MSc Project Management, MBA and MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
Yusuf Giga, Senior Partnership Manager, Off-Campus Division, at the University of Bolton, said: “It is heart-breaking to see the devastation caused by this extreme weather and we were determined to support our partner in Malawi and help them to rebuild and recover.”
