Bolton bakery HM Pasties will be making history this weekend as they will open on a Saturday for the first time ever.
The artisan pasty producer, on Norris Street, currently opens from Monday to Friday 11.30am to 2pm, but is now breaking new ground by opening its doors outside of the working week.
A message on the HM Pasties Facebook page said: “We are so excited to announce that due to overwhelming response to the recent local media coverage we will be opening the hatch selling our freshly baked products on Saturday for the first time ever at a weekend.”
Last week the bakery, known for providing ex-criminals with employment, won an award at the British Pie Awards.
HM Pasties won the vegan category for having the best pie, with its chickpea curry pasty scoring 95 marks out of 100 to take first place.
Owner Lee Wakeham got involved in the popular company, which sells both hot and frozen pasties, in 2017.
This is underlined with positive reviews, with reviewers on google maps giving the bakery an average score of 4.8 stars out of 5.
HM Pasties will open on Saturday at their usual time of 11.30am to 2pm, with more information available on their website and social media pages.
