Westhoughton entrepreneur, Aaron Willis, has been fired from this year’s series of The Apprentice.
He made it to week 10 of the competition but said it was “just his time” to leave adding that the “right person left the competition” last night (10 March).
In the shock double elimination, Aaron- from Daisy Hill and now living in Chorley - and Akeem Bundu-Kamara were both sent home following a disastrous baby food challenge.
In the episode, the teams were tasked with creating a healthy meal for children before making it and pitching it to retailers.
However, it was an unsuccessful day for all candidates with both teams failing to receive any orders from retailers.
Aaron, director of a security business, put himself forward for the project manager role and the team created their brand, ‘Little Taste Adventure’.
Their ‘Moroccan Medley’ product which was described as ‘stodgy’ and ‘bland’.
In the boardroom, Sir Alan Sugar called their creation "one of the worst products [he] has ever seen in the boardroom".
He said: “Retailers said it tasted terrible and the texture was too thick to get out of the packet.
“From what I heard, [retailers] were going to use tear gas to get rid of you because you kept going on and on.”
Now, just four female candidates remain in the competition.
Since leaving the show, Aaron has posted an updated to his Instagram, apologising for "not bringing it home to the North West"
He said: “Thank you so much for all your kind words.
“The right person went tonight, it was just my time.
“So sorry I couldn't bring it home for the North West, but I gave it one hell of a go.
“I'm proud of myself and my family and friends who have been on this huge journey with me. Now to spend some quiet time for a few days with my gorgeous wife.
“She gave me the belief and strength to do this and those phone calls when I was in [The Apprentice] house made me more determined.
“How many times did you hear ‘I can't do this, I'm out,’ and all I got back was ‘you bloody can and you're not coming home yet, I've got a spa booked’.
“Onwards and upwards and looking forward to such a bright future.
“Now to have family time and enjoy reflect on this amazing experience. Ladies, please smash the interviews. The right four are left in the process.”
Many of Aaron's fans are sad to see him leave the show.
One person said: "Can’t believe Aaron got fired - been the best candidate throughout the 10 weeks and just because he can’t cook he’s fired."
Another said: "How can Aaron be fired so easily when Stephanie and Katherine have made so many mistakes?"
"I’m sorry but Aaron was absolutely robbed in tonight’s The Apprentice," said another.
