AN axe-throwing venue is bidding for a licence to extend its opening times later into the night and early hours of the morning.
Real Axe Urban Axe Throwing Smokehouse and Bar, first opened off Blackburn Road in October 2019 and since then has hosted axe urban throwing games with cocktails and barbecue meals.
The new licence, applied for on February 21, will allow the venue to stay open until 2.30am on Fridays and Saturdays if granted by Bolton Council.
The venue's website says: "Real Axe is serious about fun, whether its a date night for two or a corporate party of 160, we will make sure you have a memory that lasts."
Expanded opening times will see the venue granted the right to play films and recorded music up until 2.30am on Fridays and Saturdays and until 10.30pm on a Sunday.
Real Axe will also be able to sell alcohol on the premises until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays and to continue selling it for drinking off the premises until 2.30am.
On Sundays this will apply until 10pm and 10.30pm.
Currently Real Axe closes at 10.30pm on Weekdays and Sundays and at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
The application is open for representations until March 21.
