There is a large police presence and a cordon in place following reports of an alleged stabbing.
The incident is believed to have taken place just before 3pm on Sunday in Rishton Lane in Great Lever.
It is not yet known how many people are involved or if anyone is seriously injured, but according to passers-by, one male and three youths had been seen having a disagreement in the area with one person believed to have been stabbed inside a phone box.
The passer-by said: "There's a large police presence and cordon in place on Rishton Lane just by the roundabout on Weston Street.
"I don't know if it's true but someone's been stabbed."
The police and ambulance service have been contacted for a statement.
