SHE has led the Covid vaccination roll out in Bolton and spoken about the importance of the jab on national television.

But even Bolton's own Dr Helen Wall cannot escape 'everyday sexism'.

Dr Wall took to social media to voice her treatment in 2022 at the hands of an unnamed business.

Posting on Twitter she wrote: "I don’t normally do this but one too many messages this am:

"I’ve bought a back door and the company keep messaging (despite me saying it’s me) to tell me to tell Mr X (hubby) when it’s ready to be fitted. Is this seriously 2022?!"

She added: “I have told them I was so mad. My husband wouldn’t notice if I replaced the back door with a marshmallow.”

Some of her followers shared their own experiences of 'casual sexism'.

Rebecca Riley posted: "New floor fitted recently. Workman said to my husband the dishwasher is back in place so she'll be able to use it!"

Lindsay Nelson said: "My heating packed up, the engineer told me I needed a new thermostat and it’s a quick job for my husband. After stating I didn’t have said man and this is MY house, a quick YouTube video and trip to Screwfix and I fixed it myself!"

And men also joined in with Jim Cooke stating: "Had a large house extension and complete renovation....most of the builders would primarily want to talk to me, despite my wife managing the project overall."
