ROADS were closed after a tree came crashing down last night.
Emergency closures were put in place on Turton Road and Chapletown Road and remained in place for some time.
Bolton Council said this morning - the incident was now clear.
A spokesman said: "This has been dealt with and the roads reopened."
One resident said: " I stood under that tree for many years waiting for the bus back home from school."
Police and fire service were seen at the scene.
Police said there had been no injuries.
