IT'S NATIONAL Apprenticeship Week and an air technology firm are working closely with apprentices to help build a better future.

Howorth Air Technology is delighted to be supporting National Apprenticeship Week and this year’s theme, Build the Future.

A spokesman said: "We work closely with our local training providers @ALHorwich and @RochTraining as well as local colleges."

The clean air pioneers since 1858 love taking on apprentices to train.

Carlo Rava, a Pharma Operations Director said: "We've been asking for recruits in engineers since 2010. We built on this successful apprentice programme. What we've done is expand in other areas of the business like administration, technical services and design.

"For us it's not just about developing great engineers, it's about developing great people. It's part of our mission we talk about, we talk about the Howorth Way, it's all about our people and their development.

"That's what lies at the heart of our mission.

"Our apprenticeship programme is tailed to individual needs, they get a good mix of work place training here at Howorth as well as class based tuition over a three-year period.

"Their final year being spent on the job."
