A GAMING cafe is set to open in Bolton next weekend.
Geek Retreat is opening a new cafe in Bolton Market Place for fans of all things gaming on Saturday.
The already-popular franchise allows fans of Marvel, Pokemon, Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer and Yu-Gi-Oh! among others, to come together and revel in their passions.
Other locations such as Bury and Wigan host events on trading card games, and Geek Retreat Bolton also has events planned.
The cafe will serve food for gamers to enjoy while they plan and hang out with friends.
On the menu are nachos, burgers and fries and jacket potatoes alongside a vegan range and milkshakes.
Gamers can sit and talk as well as sign up to play board games or one of their themed game nights such as Dungeons & Dragons, which is £5 entry and includes a free drink.
A spokesman for Geek Retreat said: “Geek Retreat is the friendliest place to meet, eat, shop and game.
“We also run all sorts of weekly gaming events, pre-launch weekends, and do delicious milkshakes and burgers in store.”
The cafe will also run quiz nights and cosplay days for fans to dress up in their favourite character clothes.
On the day of the opening, the cafe will be hosting a cosplay and pre-painted miniature competitions, where fans paint mini figures.
With memorabilia items like cards, posters, artwork, comics, clothing and even figures, there will be more added to their lines as the store goes along.
Bolton’s Geek Retreat is the latest addition to the franchise, with plans by the company to open around 100 cafes this year around the country.
Other cafe events in the past have also included days for budding game writers to spend an afternoon letting their creativity take hold.
