FRESH from starring as Sherlock Holmes in the Octagon's smash-hit production Hound of Baskervilles, local actor Reuben Johnson can be seen in the new gripping drama The Teacher.
The actor from Little Hulton, who attended Harrop Fold School, has been starring in the four-part gritty series, which concludes tonight.
The Channel 5 drama follows BAFTA winner Sheridan Smith as a schoolteacher who is accused of sleeping with one of her pupils but has no memory of the night.
The series looks into the dark side of being a teacher as Smith’s character Jenna Garvey handles her emotionally troubled side and her use of alcohol.
Reuben plays her ex-boyfriend, who is still in contact with Jenna's father.
The drama also stars Kelvin Fletcher, who is an ambassador at the University of Bolton, and is known his roles in Emmerdale and Death in Paradise, and is of course a Strictly Come Dancing winner. He plays Jack, a colleague of Jenna.
The Teacher can also be watched on demand.
Reuben first trod the boards at the Octagon Theatre as a teenager playing with the idea of taking up acting as a career.
