A NEW state-of-the-art warehouse development will replace a fire-hit site in Bolton.
Dozens of firefighters tackled a huge blaze at electrical firm premises on Firwood Industrial Estate, off Thicketford Road, Tonge, in March 2020.
But now bosses at property company Millfield Estates have announced that a 30,000 square foot industrial or warehouse development will take its place.
Company chiefs say they will be investing a 'seven-figure sum' in the construction of the building, which will boast eight-metre eaves and a 300kVA power supply.
The development will be known as ARION and work is expected to commence on the premises in the second quarter of this year.
Further proposals have been unveiled for extensive car parking, four level electrically operated loading doors and offices covered by LED lighting, with double glazed windows.
Paul Dobson, property director for Millfield Estates, said: "We have been working diligently through the planning process to restore what is an integral part of our extensive Bolton portfolio and are pleased to bring this exciting new development to the market.
"Offering 30,000 sq ft of new industrial/warehouse space to a supply starved occupational market I have no doubt that there will be much interest surrounding ARION’s construction.
"We look forward to driving the project forward during 2022 as we push towards having the property ready for business next year."
Property partners Lamb & Swift will be marketing the building once it is finished, for either sale or rental.
