FORMER Wanderers defender Nat Phillips has joined Bournemouth on loan until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old has been linked with Watford, Newcastle and West Ham during the January transfer window but heads to the south coast in search of regular playing time.
Phillips has made just three appearances for Liverpool this season, most recently in a 2-1 win against AC Milan in the Champions League.
The defender signed a new contract at Anfield over the summer which runs until 2025.
The Reds will reportedly receive a £1.5 million loan fee plus an additional £250,000 if Bournemouth are promoted.
The Bolton-born defender came through the ranks at Wanderers before joining Liverpool’s youth set-up.
He broke into the first-team picture last season following an injury crisis, making 20 appearances for the Merseyside club.
Phillips featured against the Whites for Liverpool Under-21s in the Papa John’s Trophy back in October.
Bournemouth sit third in the Championship table – one point behind second-placed Blackburn with a game in hand.
Scott Parker’s men are back in action on Sunday afternoon when they host Boreham Wood in the FA Cup (KO 6:30pm).
