BOLTON News Camera Club member Cheryl Doran took advantage of the winter sunshine to capture these great shots — which readers may well recognised.
The photographs were taken in Brinscall, Chorley, and the location for some dramatic scenes in the hit Netflix series Stay Close, starring James Nesbitt,Richard Armitage and Sarah Parish.
The ruins are just 30 minutes away from Bolton and feature heavily in the adaptation of Harlan Corben's novel.
Filming for the series took place in and around Greater Manchester and has been an instant hit - being named as the number one English show globally on Netflix.
It is the latest book by the author to be adapted into a series for the streaming series.
The Stranger was filmed in Bolton and Bury, with the town hall and Le Mans been given an international showcase.
The crime thrillers focuses on four people – working mother-of-three Megan (Cush Jumbo), a documentary maker called Ray (Richard Armitage), who once showed a lot of promise, detective Broome (James Nesbitt), who we learn is unable to let go of a cold case, and Lorraine (Sarah Parish), who is an old friend of Megan’s who turns up out of the blue.
There are plenty of other characters weaved in, including Broome’s professional partner Detective Erin Cartwright (Jo Joyner); it turns out the pair also used to be married.
Having divorced after deciding they wanted different things, Erin is happily remarried with a child, and they make a good team at work. They’re investigating the disappearance of a young man – a case which Broome is convinced is linked to a man who went missing 17 years ago.
The series can be watched on Netflix.
