FORMER Wanderers midfielder Liam Feeney has joined League Two side Scunthorpe United.
Earlier today, it was announced that the 35-year-old had left Tranmere Rovers by mutual consent.
The move sees Feeney reunited with former Wanderers boss Keith Hill, who he played under at Prenton Park.
“I’m buzzing and glad to get it done. I’ve worked with the manager previously and I’m looking forward to coming here and trying to help the boys,” he told club’s website.
“I know what he demands and the standards he expects. I had good success under him last year.
“He knows what I’m about and I know what he’s about, so hopefully I can help out, chip in and get done what needs to be done.
“I’ve been fit all season and played a lot of games so I’m raring to go whenever I’m called on and when the gaffer sees fit.”
Feeney initially joined Wanderers on loan from Millwall back in September 2013 and later signed a permanent deal at the UniBol.
The midfielder went on to make 88 appearances for the Whites and was part of the squad that suffered relegation from the Championship in 2016.
He left Wanderers the following summer and had spells with Blackburn, Cardiff and Blackpool before heading to Tranmere.
Feeney made 58 appearances for the Merseyside club and helped them reach the Papa John’s Trophy final last term.
Scunthorpe find themselves in the League Two drop zone, having won just three league matches all season.
