A LORRY driver has been arrested after crashing into a kerb while sipping on whisky.
Greater Manchester Police traffic wardens reported on Tuesday morning that the heavy goods vehicle driver had been drinking scotch while driving all the way from Newcastle to Leigh.
He then crashed into a kerb in Leigh, causing his trailer to become unhitched.
Officers arrived at the scene and the driver provided a roadside alcohol sample of 75.
He was then arrested and remanded in custody were he provided a further evidential sample of 45.
