IAN Evatt admits there is interest from Wanderers in Accrington Stanley striker Dion Charles.
The Northern Ireland international was the Reds’ top-scorer last season, finding the net 20 times in all competitions.
However, he hasn’t been involved in a matchday squad since September following a contract dispute and his current deal runs out at the end of the season.
The Whites have been linked with a move for Charles in the January transfer window, and Evatt says he knows the forward well from his time at Blackpool.
“I don’t really like speaking about players who are attached to other football clubs,” said the Bolton boss.
“Dion is a player I am fully aware of – he was actually a youngster at Blackpool while I was a player there.
“Obviously he scored 20 odd goals for Accrington at this level last season. He’s a player we like of course, so that’s something that we are kind of interested in.”
Wanderers have also been linked with a move for Wimbledon midfielder Anthony Hartigan, with Josh Sheehan set to miss the rest of the season due to a serious knee injury.
However, Evatt played down reports linking the youngster with a move to the UniBol.
He added: “In terms of Anthony, he’s not on our radar at the moment. We’ve got lots of options, lots of targets and we’re working our way through.
“Some are achievable, some aren’t – we’re just doing the best we can. We have some strong players on the list, some good options, and we’ll do our best to make sure we get them in.”
