Give us some history about the pub:
Pub dates back about 150years, it’s owned by star pubs formerly Scottish and Newcastle brewery, it has been family run for the past 17 years, and it’s a traditional locals pub and always has been. The pub used to be two rooms, the tap room and the lounge but it was renovated over 30 years ago to bring it to one main room
Is food served? If so what’s on the menu?
No food, we concentrate on being the only local pub left in the village that concentrates on beer. We also have the added benefit of an Italian restaurant next door
Is there a beer garden?
Yes with seating for approx 30 people
Do you have any darts/snooker/pool teams?
Darts team
Most popular drink served is:
Cask Ale – we have four hand pumps
Most memorable moment at the pub:
Won the national award for the best dressed pub for the World Cup
Do you have an entertainment line-up?
We have karaoke once a month, bingo and music once a month and we have an open singers evening once a month
Have you faced any challenges within the industry?
COVID restrictions gave us a big challenge but we stuck to the rules and the customers appreciated the effort and showed their support and continue to do so

Having a great customer dynamic, as we have people from other areas who visit us regularly plus our locals who have always shown us support over the years
The worst thing about running a pub is...
You tend to enjoy the benefits with the customers a little too much!
