A POLICE officer based in Bolton has been charged with "conspiracy to commit police corruption."
Greater Manchester Police today announced that PC Akeel Kadir, 52, a constable based in the Bolton district has been charged one count of conspiracy to commit police corruption and three counts of unlawfully obtaining personal data.
Kadir was arrested on November 12 2019 and has been subject to restricted duties ever since.
Junaid Patel, 33 of Edstone Close, Bolton, Mohammed Soorma, 48 of Bankfield Street, Bolton, and Soyab Dhalech, 51 of Prince Road, Bolton have also been charged with conspiracy to commit police corruption.
The charges relate to incidents which occurred in the period April 2015 to November 2019.
Kadir, Patel, Soorma and Dhalech will all appear before Manchester Magistrates Court on January 20 2022.
