A father-of-three was found dead two days after being reported missing an inquest has heard.
Christopher Jones, born in Birmingham, was found in woodland off Barrow Bridge road by a dogwalker on July 4 this year after family raised concerns about his wellbeing.
Assistant coroner Peter Sigee told Bolton Coroner's Court that the 32-year-old lorry driver was last seen at his home address in Buckley Lane, Farnworth at around 10am on Friday, July 2.
Police issued an urgent appeal to find Mr Jones on July 4, the day he was found dead.
His ex-partner, Natasha Barrett, said that Christopher had issues with his mental health which she believes were never properly diagnosed.
She said in a statement that he "could be the nicest person" but his mood could change very quickly. He sent a message to her on the morning of July 3 which of concern but neither Natasha or his mother could get in touch with him so it was raised with the police.
Christopher had been referred to a mental health practitioner on January 27 this year by his GP which was reviewed on June 28, but there wasn't considered to be a risk of suicide or self-harm.
Mr Jones was found by dog walker Andrew Swindles on July 4 who said he was left "shaken" by finding him.
Toxicologist Julie Evans said: "Overall there was no compelling evidence that alcohol or drugs would be implicated in his death."
A post mortem carried out at the Royal Bolton Hospital on July 9 revealed that the cause of death was hanging.
