I wonder if any of your readers have any recollections of my grandfather, John Fletcher, who was the headmaster of Haulgh Board School and died in 1898.
Apparently he was quite musical and played the violin and possibly conducted the Bolton Philharmonic Orchestra.
I would be so grateful for any information about him or his friend Charles Howarth who was also a headmaster at that time.
