A MAN has died after a "tragic incident" in which a car hit a tree last night.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Lever Park Avenue, Horwich at around 10pm on Saturday evening where they found a grey Audi had hit a tree.
A 32-year old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a three-year-old child, an eight year old child and a 31-year-old woman were all taken to hospital.
Police Constable Andy Bennett, of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This is a tragic incident where a man has sadly lost his life.
"Our thoughts are with his family at this incredibly difficult time."
The woman and two children remain in hospital and are in a stable condition, according to police.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
PC Bennett said: "If anyone was in the area at the time and witnessed this collision, or has any dashcam footage of the car in the lead up to or during this collision, please get in touch with police as soon as possible."
