PLANS have been drawn up for the colourful return of the Big Bolton Santa Dash.

Bolton Lads and Girls Club is once again teaming up with Four Recruitment for the yuletide favourite on the week commencing November 29.

Those getting involved can run, walk or cycle five miles over that duration.

Organisers want to reach the target of 2,246 miles, as this is the distance from Bolton to Lapland, and they need kind-hearted Boltonians to help them get there.

The registration fee is in the form of a £20 donation to the club via their main Just Giving page, which will be provided for those signing up. But donations on top of this are also encouraged.

Four Recruitment will be covering their miles together as a business on Friday, December 3, and members of the public are welcome to join and enjoy a selection of festive refreshments at their offices afterwards.

Claire Sofield, the firm's managing director, is excited for the dash to begin.

She said: “As a long-standing patron of Bolton Lads & Girls Club, we are super excited to be organising our second Big Bolton Dash fundraiser – this time with a festive theme.

“We wanted to make the Big Bolton Santa Dash a fun and inclusive event that people can enjoy with friends, family and colleagues.

“We have already had a great response which demonstrates the fantastic community spirit and generosity that exists across Bolton.”

The company also did a Secret Santa event last year in aid of the club and the Fortalice charity.

Kelly McFadden, the club's fundraising head, added: "We feel really honoured to be a beneficiary once again of Four Recruitment’s fundraising efforts.

“The company is a patron of the club, but their commitment and support to helping our town and our young people doesn’t stop there.

“When they knew our fundraising had slowed because of the pandemic, they arranged the dash last year to raise vital funds when we needed them the most.
