WE are continuing our quest to put the spotlight on some of the great local pubs in Bolton.
This time we have spoken to the landlord of The Churchgate.

Give us some history about the pub:
Formerly known as The Brass Cat and before that the Golden Lion and the Bears Paw, The Churchgate received new management in April of 2020.
Is food served? If so what’s on the menu?
We launched our food menu roughly around six weeks ago and we offer a range of light bite meals freshly prepared on site.
Is there a beer garden?
We have a pop up sun trap at the front of the venue and a smaller sheltered area to the back of the venue
Do you have any darts/snooker/pool teams?
We have a pool team Churchgate Wanderers and Churchgate Bulls darts team

Our cocktail menu has become increasingly popular
Most memorable moment at the pub:
We held a halfway to Christmas event in July we had decorations Christmas songs and even a snow machine. It was amazing to see the venue reach its full capabilities and see people finally enjoying themselves
Do you have an entertainment line-up?
We have live entertainment most Sunday evenings from 6pm and we also have a resident DJ Ash-T playing all kinds of floor fillers on a Friday and a Saturday until 2am
Have you faced any challenges within the industry?
COVID 19 has been the most obvious challenge but we have come out stronger as a team
The best thing about running a pub is...
The customers are amazing, we love seeing old faces and new ones too.
The worst thing about running a pub is...
Closing in the evening and then being tempted by other later venues to join them.
