A COMPANY which has continued to fly the flag for British TV knowhow has celebrated its 25th anniversary.
The TVD group has grown from a small shop in Leigh to an enterprise, now based on Waters Meeting industrial estate which makes and supplies sets far and wide.
Jim Brown and his sons Mat and Dan founded TVD in 1996 as TV and Video Direct, using their customer service skills to grow the business organically.
Their work, as they evolved into the TVD Group, has included delivering and installing TVs, displays and digital signage in betting shops, hotels and sporting venues across th country.
Fast forward to 2017 and the family outfit decided to branch out into manufacturing, creating Mitchell and Brown, created by Mat and Dan using their own moniker and their mother’s maiden name.
The own-brand TVs, custom-built to their own specifications by a leading industry supplier, with a seven-year warranty, are now being sold on the high street.
Dan Brown, the firm’s operations director, said: ““TVD’s solid and sustainable growth over the last quarter of a century is down to our family values and drive to deliver the very best service to our customers.
“Whether that is the seven-year guarantee and UK customer help desk for Mitchell & Brown TV buyers, or the quality of service we deliver to our major commercial clients, we strive to ensure our customers get the very best value from dealing with us.”
Earlier this year the venture unveiled its new line-up, featuring more than 30 models, rfom 22-inch bedroom-friendly TVs to cinema-ready 65-inch versions.
The company also recently staged a charity golf day at The Belfry, in honour of their 25th year, inviting along clients, customers and partners to play on the world-famous course.
Dan added: “Our business is a real collaboration, and we will continue to expand under the same guiding principles that have driven our success.”
