COMEDIAN Sophie Willan and the town’s First Citizen can be seen as never before after becoming Bolton’s very own calender girls.
The star of Alma’s Not Normal features alongside Mayor of Bolton Cllr Linda Thomas in a new charity calender to help the town’s young homeless.
And for Sophie it is a cause close to her heart as she was supported by Bolton-based Backup North West when she fell on hard times.
The musical themed calendar sees the mayor given an Abba-esque make-over to transform her into Agnetha from the hit 70s group.
Sophie appears as the legendary singer Amy Winehouse.

CEO of the charity Maura Jackson also appears in the calendar as pop sensation Boy George.
She said: “It’s been a lot of fun making the calendar and educating the young residents, who are transformed into The Beatles. This was a particular highlight
“My Boy George make-up was done by a talented young person from Bolton too; Freya.
“Every penny we raise goes towards the things needed by young people. We do not use a single penny for admin or management of staff costs.
“Backup is one of the Mayor’s charity’s this year, so there was not much arm twisting involved to convince Cllr Thomas to get stuck in.
“But it’s been wonderful to be supported throughout the process by so many people, including my colleagues, who become the Spice Girls, Elton John and Adam Ant.”
She added: “Even my dog, Che, is involved, doing his bit to tackle homelessness.”

Other familiar faces in the calendar include Bolton at Home boss Jon Lord who stars as Elvis, and Lisa Forshaw, who appears as Whitney Houston.
The calendars can be bought for £10 at the charity’s annual meeting at Bolton Whites on October 8, via the charity’s website: www.backup-charity.org.uk, or by emailing the charity at: mail@backup-charity.org.uk.
They can also be collected from the charity’s head office in Bridgeman Street, Bolton.
