FARNWORTH is set to stage its first live music festival this weekend.

Farnworth Live Music Festival will feature a day-long line up of music alongside a funfair, games and food and drink stalls.

The festival should have take place last year but was postponed due to the pandemic.

Farnworth based event company, BL4 Live have organised the festival with Live Events Team LTD.

They say they are bringing to the stage some of the best tribute acts from around the UK to Freddie, Adele, Bruno Mars, Go-Gaga, Boomin, Elton Nearly and Amy Winehouse AKA Lioness.

The event will raise money for the Bolton Hospice, Derian House and a local grass roots football club, Halshaw Moor.

Gary Daniels, the main organiser of Farnworth Live, says he is looking forward to welcoming people from all over to the festival.

He said: “We are marketing to all families and it’s inclusive to everybody. This is the first time the event has been held as unfortunately due to Covid we had to delay.

“I think everyone is ready for fun now. We have all had 12-to-18 months of being unsure and keeping precautions and now I think everybody is ready to go out in a safe environment.”

Talking about the festival, Gary believes the event will bring a great atmosphere because of the music and stalls.

He said: “All the entertainment is sure to set a really vibrant atmosphere. There’s just going to be a really fun family atmosphere everywhere.”

Families of all ages are invited to Farnworth Cricket and Sports Club on Saturday from 11:30am to 22:30pm and tickets are now on sale pricing at £20 for adults and £7.50 for children, with children under three tickets being priced at £3.50.

Covid precautions will be in place with hand sanitising stations dotted around the area and organisers are asking attendees to take a lateral flow test before going to the event. They are also asking people with symptoms to please stay away to stop the spread of the virus.
