A NEW startup enterprise has won a prestigious award after helping Greater Manchester businesses become more sustainable.
Play It Green in Prestwich has planted over 17,000 new trees in under six months and helped families and businesses lower their carbon footprint.
Now it has won the Carbon Hero award for Greater Manchester from the Mpostcode Business Hub.
The startup’s business model sees them donate ten pc of their revenue to charities and causes of the member’s choice.
Chris Thair Play It Green's chief executive, said: “We’re delighted to receive our inaugural award and thank the Mpostcode community and Kyle Anthony for recognising the work we do.
“We know most people and businesses wish to do more for the planet but don’t necessarily know how, so we established Play It Green to help provide simple affordable solutions.
“Sustainability has become a huge topic in the business world following market research showing that if you are not engaged with this, especially the environment, then people will buy elsewhere.
“Whether it is for ethical, procurement, supply chain, monetary or legislative reasons, ensuring your business is more sustainable is vital in today’s market.
“We operate a completely transparent business, are really proud of what we do and it was wonderful to be awarded the Carbon Hero Award.”
Kyle Anthony, events and membership manager for Mpostcode Business Hub, added: “It is an absolutely outstanding story.
“What Play It Green has achieved in only five months is incredible. We are proud and delighted to recognise the real and meaningful changes Chris Thair, Richard Dickson and the whole team at Play It Green are making. Congratulations to Play It Green.”
