A DRIVER was arrested by police on suspicion of dangerous driving and child neglect after being chased at high speeds through the streets of Bolton.
Traffic officers were conducting routine patrols last night (September 18) when they ended up in pursuit of a black Ford Fiesta which was travelling at speeds of more than 90mph.
When the driver was unable to shake off the police despite running several red lights, he pulled over.
Officers were shocked to find a young child in the car. The driver was arrested for offences of dangerous driving and child neglect.
The driver was found to be a provisional licence holder with no insurance and the child was safeguarded with the relevant referrals made.

A Greater Manchester Police Traffic spokesperson said: "Earlier tonight #XT14 pursued this Ford Fiesta ST through Bolton at speeds over 90mph as it made its way through red lights and traffic.
"Unable to lose the officer he simply pulled over... found in the car was a young child. Driver arrested for dangerous driving and child neglect."
