A LORRY driver was found dead in a wooded area in Wigan, an inquest opening was told.
Bolton Coroners Court heard how Karl Gaskell, 33, of Simkin Street, Wigan, was found hanged in Bamfurlong Hall Farm on August 23.
Paramedics arrived at the scene at 12.03pm and his death was diagnosed by paramedics.
A note of intent detailing his location was found by family members on the day of his death, the court heard.
Police coroner’s officer Andrew Pickles confirmed that no suspicious circumstances or evidence of third-party involvement were found at the scene.
A postmortem examination was carried out, and a pathologist gave the medical cause of death as one of “suspension by ligature”.
Senior coroner Timothy Brennand adjourned the inquest to January 27, 2022.
