A MAN has been taken to hospital after falling down the escalators at a retail store in Bolton town centre.
Emergency services received a call at midday after a man fell down the escalators at Sports Direct and was said to have a head injury.
An ambulance, two rapid response vehicles and an air ambulance were sent to the scene.
The man has now been transported by road ambulance to Salford Royal Hospital, where he will recieve treatment for his injuries.
A North West Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We received a call at 12.02pm for a male that had fallen down some escalators with a head injury.
"We dispatched an ambulance, two rapid response vehicles and the air ambulance to the scene.
"We have now transported the male patient to Salford Royal Hospital."
