A community housing organisation has had travellers move in on the car park of one of its sites.
Travellers have set up on the Bolton at Home Valley House site in Waters Meeting Road, off Blackburn Road, taking over a significant section of the site’s car park.
The groups moved in late last week causing disruption to both staff and customers.
Bolton at Home said they were aware about the situation and have commenced legal action to move the travellers off their site.
A spokesperson from Bolton at Home: “We are aware of the unauthorised encampment of travellers on the car park at Valley House and have commenced legal action which would require them to move on.
“We’re working hard to minimise disruption for all staff and customers.”
Travellers also recently had to be moved on from a Little Lever playing field.
In mid-July caravans pulled up on to fields off Meadow Close with the council having to go to court in order to remove the travellers.
Earlier in July travellers set up a large camp on Moss Bank Park but left soon after police were called to reports of a stolen caravan.
