BAR bosses are supporting talent in more ways than one as a venue opens up for a post-lockdown gig next month.
The DogHouse Music Bar, near Kay Brow in Ramsbottom, will play host to indie artist, Marc Todd, on Friday, August 27, who will be showcasing songs from his recent self-titled debut album.
Marc is returning to the Ramsbottom gem, after filming his latest music video, ‘I’m a Changed Man’, there recently.
Amanda Hogg, owner of the DogHouse Music Bar, said: “We couldn’t be prouder to be welcoming Marc back and to have him perform at our bar on August 27.
“We cannot wait to hear his amazing voice and see him entertain the punters.
“It’s been so exciting to have Marc preparing for his gig at our place as well as shooting his latest music video here.
“It’s been one of the hardest years we’ve encountered - as it has been for many people in this industry - and we’re looking forward to throwing open the doors once more.
“Live music is what we’re known for around here, and we’ve had people travel from further afield to experience the DogHouse.
“We wanted to make sure our gigs give local talent just like Marc the chance to perform to a live audience, and even better, show off his first album.”
Marc added: “It feels like there’s a light at the end of the tunnel show.
“Since March last year, a lot of performers have been left, without a stage while so many hospitality venues have been desperate to host.
“We’ve pulled each other through what seemed like it was never ending, and I’m so proud to be one of the fine artists to perform at the Doghouse post-lockdown.”
While preparing for the gig, Marc has worked on future material, collaborating with other musicians including Ben Hutchinson from Manchester-based Submarine Films and actress Nicole Evans, who lives in Manchester, to record his ‘Feel Like a Hurricane’ video which was released on June 25, shot in and around Manchester, Ramsbottom and Helmshore.
Marc added: “It’s been recording the music videos in my local area and I made sure everyone involved had a connection to here.
“Seeing my music come together for a debut album is something I’m really proud of and I can’t wait to share it with people on a stage, over a drink, just like it should be!”
