MAGISTRATES have recently banned six people from driving.
A DRUG driver caught on the M6 has been banned from the roads for three years. Police found Jake Crilly, aged 21, of Craighall Road, Bolton, had been using cocaine when he drove a Toyota Yaris on the southbound carriageway of the motorway on November 5. He pleaded guilty to committing the offence when he appeared at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court and was also fined £120 plus £119 in costs and charges.
A MAN caught drink driving in Blackpool has been banned from holding a licence for 12 months. At Blackpool Magistrates’ Court Jonathan Ashton, aged 34, of Moorland Grove, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence when he drove a Fiat Punto on Preston New Road on June 5.He was also fined £120 plus £119 in costs and charges.
MAGISTRATES have fined a man £500 after he was caught drug driving in an Audi S5. At Preston Magistrates’ Court Kyle Marsden, aged 33, of Thicketford Road, Bolton, admitted driving the vehicle on Myles Standish Way, Chorley, on September 26 after using cocaine. He was banned from driving for 12 months and, as well as the fine, must pay £135 in costs and charges.
A MAN caught driving a BMW on the M6 without insurance has been banned from holding a licence for 12 months. At Preston Magistrates’ Court Paul Etteridge, aged 43, of Forfar Street, Bolton, admitted not having insurance for the vehicle when he drove it on the southbound carriageway of the motorway near junction 31a on October 5 last year. He was fined £660 plus £156 in costs and charges.
MAGISTRATES have fined a Horwich man £660 plus a further £156 in costs and charges after he drove a Vauxhall car on the A666 at Darwen without insurance on October 10 last year. At Preston Magistrates’ Court the case against Marvin Gordon, aged 35, of Bridge Street, Horwich, was proved and he was also banned from driving for 56 days.
A WOMAN caught drink driving on the M65 has been banned from the roads for 12 months. Preston magistrates heard how Jessica Douglas, aged 28, of Darwen Road, Bromley Cross, had drunk more than the legal limit of alcohol when she drove a Mini on the motorway on May 24. She pleaded guilty to committing the offence and, in addition to the ban, was fined £550 plus £140 in costs and charges.
