THE mum of a teenager who suffered a skull fracture after coming off his bike and smashing into a wall is seeking the woman who saved his life.

Owen Heyes, 15, flew over his handlebars and smashed into a wall after swerving to avoid a car.

Nine bricks came out of the wall - such was the force of the collision.

And his mum, Kelly Hough, is now seeking to find a woman who brought him round and according to paramedics, quite possible saved his life.

Owen suffered a skull fracture, three broken ribs and brain swelling due to the injury.

A woman who lives nearby to the incident, which took place on the night of Tuesday, June 22, around the Radcliffe Road/Hacken Lane junction flagged down another woman, who helped to provide basic first aid.

Kelly said: “Had it not been for her, the paramedic said, he could have been dead and he could have been in The Bolton News the next day as a dead body.

“He has swerved to avoid the car and gone 10 metres in the air and hit his head on the wall - taking nine bricks out of it so that tells you how hard he hit it.

“I accidentally crashed into the same wall when I arrived and I didn’t leave a mark.”

After being rushed to hospital, Owen received stitches and was eventually discharged on the Friday.

He has since been recovering, although has moments of forgetfulness and some lingering pain.

Owen, who hopes to start an apprenticeship later this year, is making a brilliant recovery.

The woman who helped Owen was driving a white car, and may have been a teacher, Owen's mum believes.

She had apparently been picking her son up from a fencing club that night when she stopped to help.

She had also indicated she had witnessed an armed robbery in Chorley Old Road.

Kelly added: “I owe her my life. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have a son and it might have been a completely different scenario if she hadn’t brought him round.”

Kelly said that she would “die trying” in an effort to reach her son’s saviour.
