The coronavirus infection rate in Bolton has begun to rise slightly again.
The town experienced a spike in cases in late-April and early-May due to the spread of the Delta variant, however, this had been brought under control in June with cases coming down for most of the week.

Data over the last two days has shown that Bolton's number of Covid cases are on the rise again, along with the rest of Greater Manchester.
Bolton still has one of the lowest case rates in the GM region, thanks largely to the work of local public health teams, NHS, CCG, and countless volunteers who helped to test and vaccinate as many people after the spike of the Delta variant of coronavirus.
In the seven days to June 26, Bolton recorded 787 new positive cases of Covid-19, equalling an infection rate of 273.7 new positive cases per 100,000 residents.
This is a rise from the previous seven days, to June 19, where the town recorded 725 new cases at a rate of 252.1 per 100,000 residents.
The borough of Manchester is recording the highest rate in the GM region at 464.1 per 100,000 with Hyndburn recording the highest in the country overall with 584.9 per 100,000.
