MAGISTRATES have given a man a suspended prison sentence after he sent a grossly offensive message to a woman on April 19. Lewis Davis, aged 29, of Deepdale Road, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence and was sentenced to 10 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months. He was ordered to have treatment for alcohol addiction, must participate in a behaviour programme for 23 days and take part in five days of rehabilitation activities. A restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victim.
A MAN caught in possession of crack cocaine on February 5 has been fined £120. Kevin Barkess, aged 53, of Hengist Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence.
A DRINK-driver caught using an Audi A4 in Wellington Street, Bolton, has been ordered to do 60 hours of unpaid work. Vasile Ionut, aged 33, of Rudolph Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on June 1. He had drunk more than two and a half times the legal alcohol limit. Ionut also admitted having no insurance and was banned from driving for 23 months.
A MAN has been electronically tagged after he admitted obstructing a police officer on October 7 last year. Falsal Ahmed, aged 23, of Bedford Street, Bolton, was made subject to a 7pm to 7am curfew for four weeks.
A DRIVER who had drunk more than double the legal level of alcohol has been banned from the roads for 22 months. Corey Scott, aged 29, of St Helens Road, Bolton, pleaded guilty to drink driving in an Audi A3 on Raikes Lane, Bolton, on May 24. He was also fined £120.
MAGISTRATES have fined a man £300 and sentenced him to a conditional discharge for 12 months after he became drunk and disorderly in Ormrod Street, Bolton, on May 26. Connor Byrne, aged 24, of Mackenzie Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence and possessing cocaine in Bury on May 27.
A MAN caught driving after using cocaine also had no licence or insurance. Thomas Jones, aged 37, of Belmont Road, Bolton, drove a Toyota Avensis on Bolton Road in Abbey Village on April 28 last year. Jones pleaded guilty to drug driving and having no licence or insurance. He was banned from applying for a licence for 12 months and fined £120.
MAGISTRATES have fined a man £288 after he refused to provide a blood sample to police, who suspected him of having committed a driving offence. Ijaz Khan, aged 39, of Rishton Lane, Bolton, denied failing to provide the sample but was convicted of the offence. He was banned from driving for 15 months.
MAGISTRATES have fined a man £660 after he failed to name the driver of a Citroen to police on Christmas Day last year. Moosa Bikzadeh-Oskoei, aged 28, of Burnaby Street, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence. Six points were added to his licence.
A WOMAN who permitted her VW Polo to be driven with illegal tyres on November 27 last year has been fined £122. The rear tyres of the vehicle did not have enough tread depth. Fahima Banglawala, aged 29, of Devonshire Road, Bolton, admitted the offence and had three points added to her licence.
A WOMAN who damaged a man’s property has been sentenced to a conditional discharge for six months. Molly Moxon, aged 40, of Weston Street, Bolton, smashed a window at the house on March 3 and then on March 13 damaged the boarded up window. She pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal damage was ordered to pay £50 in compensation.
MAGISTRATES have fined a man £660 after he failed to name the driver of a Nissan Micra to police on March 18, 2019. Rudolf Kozak, aged 33, of Orchid Avenue, Bolton, was convicted of the offence.
A VAN driver who had drunk almost double the legal level of alcohol has been banned from the roads for three years. Adam Wilson, aged 34, of Trevarrick Court, Horwich, pleaded guilty to committing the offence when he drove a Ford Transit in Hartlepool on May 11. He was fined £500.
MAGISTRATES have banned a man from driving for six months a he was caught speeding on Plodder Lane, Farnworth in a Ford Transit van on December 7 last year. The case against Sergiu Roca, aged 21, of Tern Avenue, Farnworth, was proved and he was fined £440.
