LEIGH were far from happy with the officials after three controversial decisions cost them at least a point and left them firmly rooted to the bottom of the Blue Square North table.

Workington were the better side in the first half and deserved their 1-0 lead at the break with a goal scored by Tony Hopper in the 14th minute.

But the Railwaymen came storming back and had what they believed to be a blatant penalty turned down, followed soon after by the referee awarding Workington a spot kick after a player looked to be offside.

In the ensuing argument, centre-back Steve Brockley was shown a red card for a second bookable offence.

Substitute Kieran Lugsden came on to grab an equaliser with five minute remaining. But Leigh's joy was short-lived as Workington midfielder Graham Anthony grabbed the winner when he lobbed the keeper three minutes later.
