PREVIEW: Workington Reds v Leigh RMI: Leigh need to rise to the occasion again if they are to do the double over the Cumbrians.
RMI gave Steve Bleasdale his first success as manager after eight games in the Blue Square North, with a 2-1 win over Workington on Boxing Day, and they need a repeat peformnace today.
The fixtures have thrown the two sides together again in less than a week, and as they also met in the FA Trophy, it will be the third time in a month.
The Reds were the victors in the cup game, but the Railwaymen thought they were hard done by in that tie and after their league success travel to Cumbria full of confidence.
That is despite the 3-1 setback they suffered at the hands of Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday.
The big-spending Cheshire outfit are one of the top teams in the division, underlined by the way they disposed of leaders Hyde United the previous week, so there was no disgrace in the defeat for Leigh.
Bleasdale has been mulling over his tactics for the game on whether to go for a victory or try defend in numbers and earn a point.
"We need to pick up points so I have some thinking to do as to what formation I will go with," he said.
"We need to get out of the relegation zone and I look on the bottom teams as a mini-league against which we need to do well."
