TV personality Vernon Kay will be joined by bubbly actress Lisa Riley when he hosts his glitzy Meet The Stars evening.
The Bolton News revealed earlier this year, the Bolton-born presenter — who won over the nation with his stint on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here — will be back his his hometown for a special red carpet event.
And the 44-year-old Bury-born actress, best known for playing the role of Mandy Dingle in Emmerdale, is the latest celebrity to be announced for the event, being staged in the Platinum Suite on Saturday, September 4.
Lisa will be alongside soap stars Alan Halsall – who plays Tyrone Dobbs in Coronation Street – and Andy Whyment, dopey Kirk Sutherland in Corrie. They will all be lifting the lid on soap life and their own lives, with the help of their celebrity host.
Vernon is donating his fee for the event to Bolton Wanderers Community Trust where he is an ambassador. He is also a life-long supporter of Bolton Wanderers FC.
Those attending the special night will also no doubt learn more about Lisa’s amazing 12-stone weight loss and the secrets of just how she managed it. Before dieting, she was a dress size 28 and slimmed down to a size 14.
The event is being organised by Bolton company Lisa Forshaw PR, which staged the successful An Evening With Sam Allardyce at Bolton Whites Hotel at the beginning of last year.
“We’re extremely excited that Lisa Riley has agreed to be a guest on the night,” commented Lisa Forshaw. “She is a hilarious character with a great sense of humour and I’m sure she will help make the night really memorable.”
Vernon is making a welcome return to his home town in a break from his busy schedule. The popular presenter is well-known for hosting reality shows and panel games – the latest of which is prime-time show Game of Talents.
Tickets for Meet The Stars includes a drink on arrival, a two-course dinner, live entertainment and a DJ. The silver ticket is £75 and the gold £100.
