The classic footy anthem Vindaloo is making a comeback for Euro 2020.

Bolton-born Phoenix Nights and Top Gear star Paddy McGuinness teased the song on his Instagram page, also featuring actor Will Mellor with comedian Leigh Francis, and Little Hulton's Bez of Happy Monday's fame among others.

The group, with EastEnders star Danny Dyer, were spotted filming scenes for the new charity music video called Vindaloo Part Two, which has been backed by Deliveroo to raise funds for the NHS.

A post on Paddy's Instagram page said: "C’mon England. My mate Will Mellor been hard at work. Coming 11/06/21."

In the teaser video he wills the song to be made number one in the charts, a feat which the original song failed to do.

The original Vidaloo was released for the 1998 world cup by Fat Les and is still sung by crowds to this day.

A source told The Sun: "Danny and Paddy are secret stars of the Vindaloo re-recording.

"They laid down their lyrics in a studio at the end of last month but their schedules couldn’t allow them to make filming.

"But it’s obvious who sings what lines in the track and the new version sounds brilliant."

The song is set to be released this Friday, to coincide with the start of the tournament.

The Euros competition begins on Friday, with England's first game against Croatia on Sunday.
