WANDERERS are keeping their fingers crossed for good news on the fitness of Jussi Jaaskelainen ahead of Saturday's crunch trip to Sunderland.
The Finland international required extensive treatment on a wrist injury at Goodison Park shortly after conceding the opening goal of a 2-0 Boxing Day defeat that leaves Wanderers hanging just three points above the Premiership relegation zone.
Though Jaaskelainen continued until the end of the game, there were concerns over whether he would be able to shrug off the injury with a game at the Stadium of Light looming in just three days.
"I don't know how bad the injury is at the minute, but it was obviously painful enough to require treatment on it," Megson said.
