A GRANDMA who sells takeaway meals from her home in Farnworth has received messages from across the world after a video posted by Rate My Takeaway went viral on Youtube.
Marion Love runs Grandma’s Kitchen and prepares fresh home cooked meals each day for collection.
This summer she will be opening up her own shop on Piggott Street.
After reading reviews online, social media page Rate My Takeaway paid Marion a visit.
In the video, reminiscent of a Peter Kay sketch, reviewer Danny Malin pre-orders one of Marion’s full English breakfasts and her cookies. He then sets up a camping table and chair outside her home and tucks in.
Grandma’s Kitchen received a 9/10 rating and the clip has been viewed more than 700,000 times - it was even on Youtube’s trending list.
Since then Marion has been bombarded with requests to deliver across the UK and even to the USA.
The 50-year-old said: “The response has been amazing, everyone seems to love it. I’ve had messages and comments from all over the world, it’s fantastic. People want deliveries to America, Switzerland, and someone from Dubai said they will buy my cookies when they come to the UK.
“I can’t thank Danny enough for the review, it’s made people more aware of Grandma’s Kitchen and it’s great for a small business like mine. “
A member from the Rate My Takeaway team said: “This was the first time we’d visited a place in Bolton and the response has been so positive.
“Danny takes his time to carefully review each item, it’s about tasting the food not just eating it. Grandma’s Kitchen is really unique, we don’t usually visit places which operate from someone’s home.
“We love supporting independent firms. Even when the review isn’t particularly positive we try to make it fair. The video performed really well and it was on the trending list at the weekend, it blew up.”
