A VEHICLE crashed with a police car and van after a chase following a burglary in Little Lever last night.
Officers were sent to Tong Road shortly after 10.30pm where a burglary took place and saw a vehicle "acting suspiciously" in the area.
Police tracked the vehicle for a short distance to the junction with Hill Top, where it struck a police car and van, causing "extensive damage" to both force vehicles.
Two officers, who were inside one of the vehicles, suffered minor injuries.
Four men then left the scene on foot.
Two men, aged 21 and 26, were arrested.
A GMP spokeswoman said: "Police were called to an address on Tong Road just after 10:30pm on Sunday to reports of a burglary.
"Officers attended, and saw a vehicle acting suspiciously in the vicinity.
"Following a short pursuit to the junction with Hill Top, the vehicle collided with a police car and police van causing extensive damage to both.
"Four men left the scene on foot. Two men aged 21 and 26 have been arrested and remain in custody for questioning.
"The two officers inside one of the police vehicles at the time of the incident suffered minor injuries."
